Everyone should have a bucket list, things you want to see or do in your lifetime. Even if it’s just a visit to a local attraction you’ve always wanted to see, summiting a mountain that’s practically in your back yard, or planning that long forgotten vacation you’re always too busy to take – make time, do it!
The problem with travel is that once you get a taste for it, it's addictive.Life is short. Prioritize. Budget. Make time to make it happen!
Top 50 on Our Bucket List
Here are the top 50 things on our bucket list that we’d most like to do. Or at least this is a partial list of a never-ending list that keeps growing the more we travel. We’re ticking them off whenever we can.
If it’s in yellow, we’ve made it happen. Doesn’t mean we don’t want to do it again though!

#1. Snorkel in Hawaii with sea turtles.
#2. Go skydiving before we die.
Without it being the cause of our deaths.
#3. Buy Oru origami kayaks.
So we can kayak anytime, anywhere.
#4. Explore Idaho’s Sawtooth range on horseback.
#5. Hike the Annapurna Circuit over Thorung La Pass in the Himalayas.
#6. Camp in the shadow of the Matterhorn in Switzerland.

#7. Wave to the mushers of Alaska’s 1100+ mile Iditarod Sled Dog Race.
#8. Stand in the pounding spray of Argentina and Brazil’s Iguazú Falls.
#9. Tour Mayan ruins under the watchful eye of machine gun-toting guards.

#10. Drive the Transfagarasan Highway.
It is definitely one of the world’s most scenic roads.
#11. Go on a safari in Africa and camp in a remote eco-lodge beneath the stars.
#12. Backpack and camp in the Australian Outback.
#13. Photograph a Patagonian puma in the wild.
#14. Ice fish with adorable local school children in the Arctic.

#15. Float in the Dead Sea.
#16. Go on a solo camping trip in the wilderness.
Alone.
All by myself.
And not in a campground, in the actual wilderness. Nobody to save my hide if I forget the gas canister for the camp stove or read the map upside down and get lost.
#17. Feel the warm red sand of the Sahara Desert.
#18. Sip fancy cocktails from a sky-rise in Shanghai’s Bund District.
#19. Camp in Hoia Baciu Haunted Forest.
#20. Kayak the coast of Kauai in the Hawaiian Islands.
#21. See adorable penguins, seals, and whales in Antarctica.
#22. Float the Danube River from Germany to the Black Sea.
#23. Tour Germany’s Neuschwanstein Castle, the original Disney castle.

#24. Stand right next to live lava anywhere we can find it!!!

#27. Fly in a helicopter.
I’ve done this for work, and it was so fun! I want to go again for a scenic flight, and Trav still hasn’t gone up in one at all.
#28. Kayak a Norwegian fjord.
#29. Hike through an ice cave inside a glacier.

#30. Hike the 2650-mile (4265 km) Pacific Crest Trail in the US from Mexico to Canada.
Travis isn’t convinced we should do this. The older we get, the less sure I am too.
#31. Volunteer at a wildlife refuge for big cats.
Who’m I kidding? ANY wildlife refuge.
#32. Zip-line off the Great Wall of China.

#33. Soak in Iceland’s geothermal river, Reykjadalur.
#34. Drive the entire Alaska Highway.
#35. Marry the love of my life and my best friend.
I’ve actually known this guy since the 5th grade. He was just meant to be my person.

#39. Sleep in a glass-bottomed hut in Mo’orea, French Polynesia.
#40. Hike the turquoise pools of Plitvice National Park.
#41. Hike and camp beneath the jagged peaks of Chile’s Torres del Paine.
#42. Watch the sun set at a beach bonfire on the Pacific Coast.
#43. Stand on top of the Kjeragbolten in Norway.
#44. Walk the legendary halls of Bran Castle.
It just seems crazy you can actually tour the home of Vlad the Impaler: aka, Dracula. And it’s beautiful!
#45. Learn how to actually roll a whitewater kayak.
Like a pro.
Not just once during a class a long time ago, but every time so that big boulder looming in the river doesn’t mean a wet exit when you slice the water with your paddle at just the wrong angle.
#46. Be a kid again at Disneyland.
#47. Sleep in a treehouse at Oregon’s coolest treesort!
#48. See one of the last remaining Harpy eagles.
#49. Hike Italy’s colorful Cinque Terre and kayak the Amalfi Coast.
#50. Visit all 63 national parks in the United States.
This is actually probably #1 on our bucket list.
We’ve visited the ones marked with blue pins but still need to visit the yellow ones.
We haven’t been to any since moving to Europe in 2014, but come 2022, we plan to be traveling in the US again!
